Israeli navy kidnaps three fishermen in Gaza

The Israeli occupation navy on Saturday arrested three Palestinian fishermen off the shore of the besieged Gaza Strip.

Zakariya Baker, a Palestinian official in charge of documenting Israeli attacks on Gaza fishermen, said that Israeli gunboats heavily opened fire at fishing boats west of Gaza city and detained three fishermen.

Baker said that the Israeli navy arrested the three brothers Emran, Mansour, and Atef Baker, seized their boat, and transferred them to an undeclared destination.

On Friday, the Israeli authorities allowed Gaza fishermen to resume fishing after a week-long ban in the wake of the latest military assault on the seaside area and expanded the permitted fishing zone to 12 nautical miles.

The Israeli naval forces on almost a daily basis chase Palestinian fishermen in Gaza, shoot at them, arrest them, or confiscate their boats and fishing equipment in violation of the agreement signed between Israel and Palestinian resistance factions following the 2014 war.

Hayya: Israel cannot impose new equations on Gaza

Member of Hamas’s political bureau Khalil al-Hayya said that the Israeli occupation state would be delusional if it thought it could impose new equations on the Gaza Strip.

Hayya made his remarks during a memorial service held on Friday night for field commanders from al-Qassam Brigades, who died recently during Israel’s aggression against Gaza.

The region and the occupation will not enjoy clam as long as the enemy is still on the land of Palestine and the blockade on Gaza has not been lifted, the Hamas official said in a speech during the event.

The time of Israeli-imposed equations and weakness is gone, he said, adding that the occupation is delusional if it thinks it can create new equations and persist in shedding the blood of peaceful protesters and resistance fighters.

We will not tolerate to see our people starve and suffer from the ongoing blockade on Gaza while there are weapons in our hands and we possess our will, he stressed.
