“CENTCOM” announces the killing of 4 ISIS leaders in an operation in Iraq last month

The US Central Command “CENTCOM” announced: “Four ISIS leaders were killed in a joint US-Iraqi military operation in western Iraq last month, including the head of the organization’s operations in the country.”

“CENTCOM” said in a statement published on the X platform: “The operation that took place on August 29 targeted ISIS leaders and aimed to disrupt and reduce the organization’s ability to plan, coordinate and carry out attacks against Iraqi civilians.”

The operation resulted in the killing of 14 ISIS elements, a number lower than that previously announced, which amounted to 15 dead before a review by US forces, and five American soldiers were wounded, in addition to two others injured as a result of their stumbling and falling.

The CENTCOM statement identified the four leaders killed as Ahmed al-Ithawi, the leader of ISIS operations in Iraq; Abu Humam, who oversaw operations in western Iraq; Abu Ali al-Tunisi, who managed weapons development and manufacturing; and Shaker al-Issawi, who led the organi
zation’s military operations in western Iraq.

The Joint Operations Command announced in a statement, yesterday, Thursday, the identities of six ISIS terrorist leaders who were killed in the Anbar Desert operation.

North Korea Keen on Enhancing Strategic Dialogue with Russia

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un pledged to strengthen his country’s relations with Russia during talks with Sergey Shoigu, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, in Pyongyang.

According to North Korea’s Central News Agency today, the two sides discussed deepening strategic dialogue between the countries. The agency quoted Kim Jong Un as saying that North Korea will continue to expand cooperation with Russia in line with the strategic partnership between the two nations.

North Korean state media reported that both sides exchanged views on enhancing cooperation and discussed regional and international situations. Shoigu has chaired Russia’s Security Council since stepping down from his role as Defense Minister in May.

Recently, North Korea has intensified its bilateral relations with Russia. In June, Russian President Vladimir Putin made a rare visit to Pyongyang, during which he signed a mutual defense treaty with Kim Jong Un. (QNA)

The body of a shepherd found west of Mosul

Security forces found the body of a shepherd in Al-Baaj district, west of Mosul, the center of Nineveh Governorate.

A source in the Nineveh Police told the Iraqi National News Agency / NINA /: “The shepherd had been kidnapped from the border village of “Al-Bu Shama”, and his body was handed over to the forensic medicine department in Mosul.”

Al Raya: Qatar Engaged on the International Arena to End Attack on Gaza

Doha, September 14 (QNA) – Al Raya newspaper affirmed that Qatar’s steadfast support for the resilience of the Palestinian people on their land stems from its historical position on the justice of the Palestinian cause, based on international legitimacy and the two-state solution. The newspaper highlighted Qatars tireless humanitarian, diplomatic, and political efforts to end the brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.

In its editorial today, the newspaper said that along with its diplomatic efforts and humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza and the Palestinian territories, Qatar continues to expose and condemn the crimes of the Israeli occupation, calling on the international community to hold the occupiers accountable for their massacres. It argued that the occupation’s continued violations stem from the international community’s disregard for its ethnic cleansing and genocide against the Palestinian people. The paper emphasized Qatar’s stance agai
nst these practices and its rejection of blatant violations of international humanitarian law.

The editorial also noted that Qatar strongly condemned the Israeli Prime Minister’s incursion into the Palestinian Jordan Valley, describing it as a dangerous escalation, an extension of provocative settlement policies, and a blatant violation of international legitimacy, particularly UN Security Council Resolution 2334.

The newspaper added that Qatar warned of the consequences of these ongoing aggressions on the efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and stressed the need for the international community to take responsibility by compelling Israeli occupation authorities to halt their flagrant violations of international humanitarian law and respect international agreements. The newspaper stressed that the occupation’s crimes will not stop as long as there is no active international will to protect Palestinians and end the historical injustice against them.

The newspaper affirmed that Qatar has
been diplomatically and politically engaged with the crisis since the early moments of the brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza. Now, after 11 months, Qatar continues its efforts day and night with mediation partners to end the crisis despite the significant challenges.

It highlighted to the participation of Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, in the meeting of the Arab-Islamic ministerial committee tasked with international efforts to stop the war on Gaza, along with European ministers and officials, with Spains Prime Minister, focused on implementing the two-state solution.

Al Raya concluded by saying that Qatar has utilized every international political platform to call for intensifying global efforts to end the suffering of the Palestinian people. It added that Qatar remains actively engaged with partners in joint mediation efforts to sign a ceasefire agreement that allows for the exchange of prisoners and hostages, ends the aggression on G
aza, and ensures the sustainable and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid. (QNA)

“Seven” suspects, including a terrorist, arrested in areas surrounding the capital

Baghdad Operations Command forces arrested seven suspects, including a terrorist, during preemptive security operations in areas surrounding the capital.

The Command stated in a statement: “The formations of the (6th and 17th) Infantry Divisions and the units attached to them, in coordination with the Intelligence and Security Department of the command, carried out preemptive operations to search and inspect the regions, armed reconnaissance, and set up “temporary” surprise checkpoints in various areas surrounding the capital within the districts of “Tarmia and Mahmoudia.”

It added: “The operation resulted in the arrest of “seven” suspects, including a terrorist, belonging to ISIS gangs, after receiving accurate intelligence information indicating his presence within the area of responsibility, and in a tight ambush set for him, he was arrested in (Al-Salihin) area within the Abu Ghraib district, and others according to various legal articles in the areas of (Al-Mazra’a, Al-Salam, Al-Rahma) south of Baghdad
.

Qatar Participates in Celebrating 100 Years of Founding of International Institute for Intellectual Cooperation

The State of Qatar took part in an international conference held at the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) headquarters in Paris, marking the centenary of the establishment of the International Institute of Intellectual Cooperation (IIIC).

Qatar was represented at the event, titled “Celebrating a Centenary of International Intellectual Cooperation: From Legacy to Future Action,” by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to UNESCO Dr. Nasser bin Hamad Al Hanzab and Assistant Undersecretary for Cultural Affairs at the Ministry of Culture Dr. Ghanem bin Mubarak Al Ali.

The conference featured films from UNESCO’s archives, restored in collaboration with France, as well as an exhibition organized in partnership with Japan.

The International Institute for Intellectual Cooperation was established after the founding of the League of Nations in 1920, following World War I. The institute was tasked with developing international standards, organizing conferences, and
publishing works on topics such as the future of culture, European spirit, humanism, and cultural relations between Europe and Latin America. The founders of UNESCO later drew upon the institute’s experiences when establishing the organization. (QNA)

A motorcycle thief was arrested in his possession of an unlicensed weapon in Baghdad

Baghdad Operations Command forces arrested an accused, who was found in his possession of a “Ghadara” weapon in the Zaafaraniya area, south of Baghdad.

The Command stated in a statement: “A force from the First Division of the Federal Police arrested, while conducting a security exercise, conducting patrols and setting up surprise checkpoints, an accused who was found in his possession of an unlicensed “Ghadara” weapon in the Zaafaraniya area, south of Baghdad.”

It added that: “Through the intersection of information with the intelligence services, it became clear that he is a motorcycle thief who has “suspicious activities” and is wanted by the judiciary. He was handed over to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures against him.”

Ambassador Mansour holds his first official meeting with the new President of the General Assembly

New York – Ma’an – The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, held his first official meeting with the new President of the General Assembly, Philomon Yang, at his headquarters in the United Nations, at his request.

On behalf of Palestine and its leadership, Ambassador Mansour congratulated Yang on his presidency of the 79th session of the General Assembly. The arrangements for the tenth emergency resumed session of the General Assembly were discussed regarding the draft resolution submitted by the State of Palestine regarding the historic advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice.

In turn, Yang congratulated the State of Palestine on its new position among the member states according to the alphabetical order, and it was agreed to communicate and coordinate regarding the work of the General Assembly throughout the year during the 79th session.
