King meets UN chief, warns of repercussions of dangerous regional escalation


His Majesty King Abdullah II, during a meeting with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, yesterday, warned of the repercussions of the dangerous escalation in the region.

During the meeting, held at the UN headquarters in New York, His Majesty called for reaching an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza as a first step to end escalation, stressing that Israeli violations in the West Bank must stop, including extremist settler attacks against the Palestinians and violations of Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

The King reiterated the need to reach an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, renewed his call on the international community to enhance the humanitarian response in Gaza, and stressed the importance of protecting workers in relief organizations.

His Majesty reiterated his call to bolster the international response to the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, stressing the importance of protecting relief workers to enable them to undertake their duties.

The King expressed app
reciation of Secretary-General Guterres’ support for a ceasefire in Gaza and his efforts towards creating a political horizon that leads to achieving peace on the basis of the two-state solution.

His Majesty also called on the international community to maintain support for UNRWA to enable it to undertake its humanitarian duties in accordance with its UN mandate.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, and Jordan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Mahmoud Hmoud attended the meeting.

Israeli air force launches heavy strikes on southern Lebanon

BEIRUT: sraeli warplanes resumed heavy airstrikes this evening, targeting multiple towns in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley.

The attacks included dozens of airstrikes aimed at towns and villages such as Al-Jabien, Sheihin, Tayr Harfa, Zebeqin, Kafra, Deir Aamiss, Zawtar, Al-Mahmoudiyah, Deir Siryan, Zarariyeh, Ansar, Malikh, Kafr Malaki, Barti, Al-Qatran, Al-Baysariyeh, Wadi Tuffahta, the heights of Jabal al-Rihan, and the banks of the Litani River.

These strikes were accompanied by intense reconnaissance flights over Lebanese airspace, escalating tensions in the region.

The Federal Police forces arrested 10 suspects in various legal cases and seized unlicensed weapons in Baghdad.

The Federal Police Command stated in a statement: “The security and preemptive operations carried out by the Fifth Division units in the Federal Police with the support of the intelligence effort, resulted in the arrest of 10 suspects according to various legal provisions that included (murder, drugs, theft, brawling, possession of weapons) in the areas of (Sadr City, Islah, Husseiniya, Al-Shaab), and the seizure of (3 Kalashnikov rifles, a pistol, and bullets), and the suspects were referred with the seized items to the competent authorities in accordance with the law.”

Palestinian boy injured by Israeli forces in Salfit

SALFIT: A 12-year-old boy, Ahmad Fadi Rayan, sustained injuries after being shot by Israeli occupation soldiers in the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan, in the occupied West Bank province of Salfit.

Local sources reported that the incident occurred during an Israeli military incursion into the town, where soldiers were conducting raids.

Rayan sustained a gunshot wound to the thigh and was rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

The town of Qarawat Bani Hassan has been subjected to frequent incursions by Israeli troops, who have established military checkpoints at the entrance, increasing tensions and concerns for the safety of local residents.

Health Ministry in Gaza: The number of victims of the Israeli war in Gaza has risen to 41,391 martyrs

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the number of victims of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip has risen to 41,391 martyrs and 95,760 wounded since October 7.

The Ministry said in a statement: “The Zionist occupation committed 12 new massacres in the Strip, of which 119 martyrs and 209 wounded arrived at hospitals during the past 72 hours.

BEIRUT: Israeli warplanes conducted numerous intense airstrikes today targeting multiple towns in southern Lebanon and the western Bekaa Valley.

The strikes hit villages including Nmairiyeh, Zefta, Ansar, Zarariyeh, Kounine, Anata, Khardali, Mahmudiyah, Deir Siryani, Zawtar, Al-Qatran, Mays al-Jabal, Alma al-Shab, Deir Zaherani, Roumine, Barghoz, and the heights of Jabal al-Rihane, as well as the banks of the Litani River.

Additionally, towns such as Sahmur, Shemisa, and Labaya in the western Bekaa were also struck. The airstrikes were accompanied by extensive reconnaissance flights, with warplanes breaking the sound barrier over Lebanese airspace.

The Energy Police Forces arrested an accused of smuggling petroleum products and seized his vehicle in Kirkuk.

The Energy Police Directorate stated in a statement: “The detachments of the First Energy Police Brigade in Kirkuk Governorate arrested an accused of smuggling petroleum products and seized his vehicle loaded with plastic barrels of various sizes and capacities containing petroleum products, without official papers.”

It added: “The accused was arrested and the vehicle was seized, based on Law No. (41) of (2008) on combating the smuggling of oil and its derivatives.”

Death toll in Gaza surges to 41,391, over 95,760 wounded

GAZA: Israeli occupation forces committed four massacres against families in the Gaza Strip over the last 72 hours, resulting in the killing of at least 119 Palestinians and the injury of 209 others, according to medical reports.

Local health authorities confirmed that the Palestinian death toll from the Israeli onslaught since October 7 has risen to 41,391 reported fatalities, with an additional 95,760 individuals sustaining injuries. The majority of the victims are women and children.

According to the same sources, emergency services are still unable to reach many casualties and dead bodies trapped under the rubble or scattered on roads across the war-torn enclave, as Israeli occupation forces continue to obstruct the movement of ambulance and civil defense crews.
