Al-Mandalawi and the Turkish Ambassador stress the importance of accelerating the implementation of the quadripartite memorandum related to the strategic development road project
Baghdad, Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, met today, Tuesday, with the new Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Anil Bora Annan.
Al-Mandalawi stressed in a statement, “The importance of strengthening the work of the friendship committees and opening horizons for joint cooperation between the two countries, in addition to following up on the implementation of all bilateral agreements between Baghdad and Ankara, especially regarding treating and organizing the water file and increasing water flows, which were concluded during the recent visit conducted by the Turkish President to Iraq.”
The statement added, “The two sides discussed the regional situation and developments facing the region, and emphasized the necessity of accelerating the implementation of the quadripartite memorandum related to the new strategic development road project, given its great economic importance to the countries concerned.”
Al-Mandalawi stressed ‘the importance of raising the level of security, informati
on and intelligence coordination in a way that preserves common interests and fully respects sovereignty and the principles of good neighborliness between the two neighboring countries.’
