Caretaker Prime Minister discusses latest development in Palestinian Territory with Brazilian Foreign Minister


RAMALLAH: The Prime Minister of the caretaker government, Mohammed Shtayyeh, met today with the Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira in Ramallah, where they discussed the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian Territory in light of the continued Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

Shtayyeh stressed that the priority is to end the aggression against Palestinians in Gaza, open all crossings with the Strip to facilitate the entry of humanitarian and medical aid to respond to its needs and restore electricity and water there.

He stated, “Aside from the Israeli occupation’s aggression against our people in Gaza, the West Bank, including Jerusalem, is also suffering from daily incursions, killings, detentions, land seizures, colonial expansion and the erection of more military checkpoints.

He further stressed that the Israeli occupation is employing all means and methods to destroy the two-state solution.

The Prime Minister pointed out th
at Brazil was one of the first countries to recognize Palestine, calling for supporting Palestine’s efforts to obtain full membership in the United Nations.

He stressed that the Palestinian people highly appreciate Brazil, its leadership and people, highlighting Brazil’s stance in support of the Palestinian people and being one of the first countries to recognize the state of Palestine.
