Conflict management as alternative to ending occupation will not lead to stability – says presidential spokesman

Presidential spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh said today that attempts by the Israeli government to return to the concept of conflict management as an alternative to ending the occupation will not lead to the achievement of security and stability.

The presidential spokesman, in a statement, said Israel’s insistence on continuing with its unilateral measures, including the continued storming into al-Aqsa mosque, settlement activities, daily extrajudicial killings, and detentions, in addition to its illegal deduction of millions of dollars from the Palestinian tax revenues, among others, will only lead to further tension and escalations.

He held the Israeli government fully responsible for the dangerous repercussions of such escalations and tension, warning that the situation may spiral out of control.

Abu Rudeineh noted that the difficult situation on the ground as a result of the daily Israeli escalations requires the US administration’s intervention to stop these Israeli measures before it is too late, or else we will reach a stage where no one can predict its grave consequences.
