COVID-19 deaths and new cases continue to rise in Palestine

The number of COVID-19 deaths and new cases in Palestine continued to rise as 2742 new cases and 17 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours, according to Minister of Health Mai Alkaila.

She said in her daily report on the pandemic in Palestine that 1406 new cases and seven deaths were recorded in the West Bank while 786 patients have recovered, and 1336 new cases and 10 deaths were recorded in the Gaza Strip where 654 patients have recovered.

Alkaila said 139 COVID-19 patients are getting treatment in hospitals and 55 are in intensive care, while 14 patients are on ventilators.

Almost 800,000 people have been vaccinated in the West Bank or 47.4 percent of the total, and 334,751 people were vaccinated in the Gaza Strip, or 26.5 percent of the total.
