Decrease in the Consumer Price Index during June, says statistics bureau

The overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Palestine during June recorded a decrease by 0.62% compared with May, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

The decrease was by 0.91% in the West Bank, and by 0.18% in Gaza Strip, while it increased by 0.15% in Jerusalem.

The Palestinian CPI during June increased by 2.13% compared with June 2020 (by 3.20% in Jerusalem, by 2.28% in the West Bank, and by 1.02% in Gaza Strip).

The Palestinian CPI during the first half of 2021 increased by 0.91% compared with the same period of the previous year (by 1.51% in Jerusalem, and by 0.98% in the West Bank, while it decreased by 0.54% in the Gaza Strip).

The changes in Palestinian CPI for June 2021 were traced back to changes in prices of the following expenditure sub groups compared with the previous month:
