The ministry of economy warned that the economic activity in the northern West Bank city of Nablus has seen a significant decline as a result of the 10-day tight Israeli military siege imposed ot it.

The ministry in a statement said that a decrease by over 60 percent was witnessed in the city’s commercial traffic and the productive capacity halved due to the Israeli closure of the city’s entrances and its ban on the movement of residents and products in and out of the city.

The ministry stressed that efforts are being taken in coordination with the private sector and various civil society organizations to confront the repercussions of the Israeli aggression on the the city’s economy.

It affirmed that the policy of collective punishment and economic pressure by the Israeli occupation will fail in the face of sturdiness, will, and steadfastness of the Palestinian people.
