Eight people killed in Texas mall shooting

Up to eight people were killed and three others critically wounded in a shooting at an outlet mall on Saturday evening in Allen, Texas.

According to authorities, the suspect is dead and is believed to have “acted alone.” A White House official said that President Joe Biden has been briefed on the shooting and that the White House “is closely monitoring the situation and is in touch with law enforcement and local officials to offer support.” Furthermore, Texas Governor Greg Abbott called the shooting as an “unspeakable tragedy.” He added that he offered “the full support of the State of Texas to local officials to ensure all needed assistance and resources are swiftly deployed.”
