RAMALLAH, Saturday, May 22, 2021 (WAFA) – The Egyptian security delegation, which visited Gaza yesterday in an effort to reinforce the fragile ceasefire, is expected to continue its talks in Ramallah today, according to a senior Fatah official.
Hussein al-Sheikh, Minister of Civil Affairs and member of the ruling Fatah Central Committee, said in a tweet that the Egyptian delegation arrived in Palestine yesterday and “began intensive contacts with all parties.” He said the delegation went to the Gaza Strip yesterday and left it, and today it arrives in Ramallah for consultations with the Palestinian leadership.
Egypt has brokered the ceasefire that brought an end to 11 days of the Israeli onslaught on Gaza that left around 250 people dead, many of them children and women, and great devastation.
