The Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority (CARC) has announced the closure of the Kingdom’s airspace to all aircraft; arriving, departing and crossing.
CARC Chair Haitham Misto Wednesday stated that the decision comes following the regional escalation, which may result in risks affecting the aviation process and passengers and their safety.
Misto added that the decision is consistent with international agreements on civil aviation safety, especially the Chicago Convention on Civil Aviation on the rules of air navigation and its safety.
He added that the decision will be reviewed according to developments and an assessment of the level of risk.
He stated that airlines are being informed and that data is being updated continuously to inform passengers and those concerned of the updates.
