Foreign Ministry confirms five Palestinians in India contracted Indian coronavirus variant

RAMALLAH, Wednesday, May 05, 2021 (WAFA) – Five Palestinians contracted the Indian coronavirus variant in India, the Palestinian Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ministry confirmed on Wednesday.
The political advisor to the Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister, Ambassador Ahmed Al-Deek said in a press statement that three Palestinian students enrolled in Andhra University tested positive for the Indian variant of the Indian Covid-19 variant, bringing the total students infected with it to six. He described the health conditions of each one of them as stable.
He added that two diplomatic staff of the Palestinian embassy in India were found infected of the variant, bringing the total staff infected with the Indian Covid-19 variant to six.
According to the latest coronavirus statistics, the number of Palestinians who contracted the virus and other who died of it in the Diaspora reached 13,331 and 403 respectively.
