Four Palestinians injured in confrontations with Israeli soldiers in Aqbat Jabr refugee camp

Four Palestinians were injured today by live bullets fired by Israeli soldiers during a raid of Aqbat Jabr refugee camp in Jericho, according to local sources.

They said soldiers broke into the camp, south of the eastern West Bank city of Jericho, in order to inspect a house slated for demolition claiming the one who lived there was involved in a shooting attack near Jericho two weeks ago that killed an Israeli soldier.

During the raid, residents confronted the soldiers with stones, who fired back live bullets injuring four later reported to be in stable condition at Jericho hospital.

Soldiers raided the camp last Wednesday where they shot and killed Mahmoud Jamal Hamdan, 22, and arrested four members of the Shallon family, who owned the house where Hamdan was found and killed alleging he was responsible for the killing of the soldier.

The army later released the four Shallon family members but kept the body of Hamdan.
