RAMALLAH, Minister of Health Mai Alkaila said today that 17 people have died of coronavirus in Palestine in the last 24 hours and 963 new cases were recorded.

She said in her daily report on the pandemic in Palestine that 11 of the dead were in the Gaza Strip, which recorded 756 new cases and 1782 recoveries, while six died in the West Bank which confirmed 207 new cases and 397 recoveries.

Alkaila said 144 people who contracted coronavirus are getting treatment in hospitals and 68 are in intensive care, while 13 patients are on ventilators.

She said that 1,184,150 people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip have received a second dose of the corona vaccine while 2918 people received a third dose, all in the West Bank. Gaza is expected to start giving the third dose soon.
