Injuries from rubber bullets, tear gas suffocation in clashes with Israeli soldiers on outskirts of Ramallah

Five protesters were hit by rubber-coated metal bullets, one in the head, and dozens suffocated from tear gas inhalation during clashes with Israeli soldiers today at the northern entrance to Ramallah, according to witnesses.

They said soldiers at an army checkpoint fired rubber bullets and tear gas canisters at dozens of university students who marched to the location to protest an army raid at Birzeit University campus yesterday and the arrest of student leaders, one of them was shot and injured during the arrest.
