Iranian officer killed in armed clash southeastern Tehran

An Iranian border guard officer was killed in an armed clash while performing his duties in securing the southeastern border in Sistan region.

The Iranian news agency (IRNA) quoted the information base of the Border Guard Command of the Internal Security Forces in Sistan and Baluchestan province as saying that one of the border guards from Zabul border regiment located in the north of the province, who went to the smugglers’ crossing areas to ensure the security of the border areas last Sunday, was injured during a clash with smugglers and opposing gunmen.

It added captain Qurban Ali Berry was immediately taken to a medical center for treatment, but unfortunately he died due to the seriousness of his injury.
