Iraq hands over to the Arab League the file to nominate Baghdad as the Arab Tourism Capital for the year 2025
Director of the International Relations Department at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Ali Yassin Abdul Redha handed over the file to nominate Baghdad as the Arab Tourism Capital for the year 2025 to the Secretary-General of the Transport and Tourism Department at the Arab League, Dr. Abu Al-Nasr, in the presence of the Minister Plenipotentiary, Dr. Muhannad Al-Shahmani, Deputy Ambassador of Iraq in Cairo, and Asmahan Jassim, Advisor to the Embassy.
A statement by the Ministry of Culture stated that Dr. Abu Al-Nasr expressed his admiration for preparing the file and highlighting the identity of Baghdad, civilization and progress, where it was addressed to the efforts of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities / Tourism Authority in all its activities to support and develop the tourism and archaeological sector by applying the principles and goals of sustainable development and improving the quality of various tourism services and strengthening infrastructure to increase the competiti
veness of tourist destinations to enhance Iraq’s leadership as a thriving and competitive tourist destination and enhance its position as an attractive and influential tourist center by employing its unique cultural heritage and various tourist attractions (archaeological, religious, heritage, etc.). It was agreed to set a date to present the file of Baghdad, the capital of Arab tourism, to the delegates of Arab countries.
