Islami: IAEA is not a party to nuclear deal negotiations

Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Mohammad Eslami confirmed that the IAEA is not a party to the negotiations of the nuclear deal, noting that relations between Iran and the agency are existing and continuing, according to Tehran’s statement.

Tasnim International News Agency reported on Wednesday that Eslami told reporters on the sidelines of the weekly government meeting on the JCPOA negotiations the agency is not responsible for the negotiations, the responsibility lies with 5 + 1 group.

Relations between Iran and the Agency are based on guarantees and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, and the monitoring is continuous, and there was no defect in it, and there was no interruption and it is continuing.

He added Grossi expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation with Iran, but the important point is that the IAEA is not a negotiating party to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

In response to a question about reducing monitoring in nuclear centers, Eslami said “Relations between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency are ongoing and existing, according to Tehran’s statement, and such a matter is not true.”
