Israel prevents Fatah officials from leaving Gaza

GAZA, Israeli authorities Wednesday prevented members of Fatah Revolutionary Council (FRC) from leaving the Gaza Strip to attend a council meeting in Ramallah scheduled for today.

FRC secretariat told WAFA that Israeli authorities refused to issue permissions for most FRC members in Gaza to leave the besieged Strip to Ramallah through Beit Hanoun/Erez crossing.

It said the deputy secretary general was among those denied permission.

President Mahmoud Abbas is expected to address the opening session of the Revolutionary Council when it meets later on Wednesday. The meeting is expected to discuss the latest political developments particularly Israeli and American measures, the formation of the new Palestinian government, reconciliation with Hamas and other internal Fatah matters.
