Israeli artillery attacks targets in northern Gaza Strip

Israeli artillery and reconnaissance aircraft today attacked targets near the town of Beit Hanoun in the north of the Gaza Strip, according to witnesses. No human casualties were reported.

WAFA correspondent said Israeli reconnaissance aircraft bombed with two missiles an open agricultural area near Beit Hanoun after an Israeli reconnaissance balloon fell in the area.

He added that Israeli artillery stationed along the perimeter fence east of the Gaza Strip bombed the same location, noting that sounds of explosions from Israeli artillery bombing can still be hard until now.

In the meantime, a number of Israeli armored tanks and military jeeps were said to have crossed the perimeter fence north of the Gaza Strip.

Israeli navy also reportedly opened gunfire at Palestinian fishermen sailing off the northern shores of the besieged enclave, forcing fishermen to return to the shore. No injuries were reported.
