Israeli forces raze lands, uproot trees to expand illegal settlement

TULKARM, Israeli army bulldozers Thursday razed lands and uprooted olive trees near the illegal Israeli settlement of Avnei Hefetz, which is built on lands seized from the villages of Shoufa, Kafr al-Labad and Kafa in the district of Tulkarm, north of the occupied West Bank.

Tahseen Hamed, local activist, told WAFA that the bulldozers razed large area of land owned by Palestinian residents of the villages in order to expand the settlement.

He said that the Shoufa has been a target for settlers in their scheme to seize what is left of its land for the benefit of Avnei Hefetz settlement, which has become one of the largest settlements in the West Bank.
