Israeli police detain Jerusalemites involved in exposing sale of property to settlers

JERUSALEM, Thursday, Israeli police detained early Thursday three Palestinians from East Jerusalem who were involved in exposing and following up on a deal in which a Palestinian property in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem was sold to an Israeli settler group, according to sources.

They said police detained Abdallah Alqam, a person known for resolving disputes, along with Kamal Abu Queider and Fadi Mattour.

The detention is believed related to their effort to expose and foil the sale, which Palestinians are strongly opposed to because it gives settlers a stronghold inside the Muslim Quarter of the Old City.
