Jordan News Agency receives rave reviews from service recipients

A recent study on the general satisfaction rate of the Jordan News Agency’s (Petra) media services for 2022 showed that 76.6 percent of recipients are satisfied with the services provided, while 90 percent of them were satisfied with the agency’s credibility, balance and impartiality policies, scoring record numbers compared to previous studies. These high percentages are a clear and direct indication of Petra’s ongoing development and keeping pace with the latest tools and modern media applications as part of its commitment to perform its national mission with professionalism, according to responders, who included journalists and editors-in-chief from various local newspapers and news channels. The study was the culmination of a questionnaire given to responders following an annual meeting hosted last week by the agency for the recipients of its media services. It covered five categories: Petra’s media product, website, Petra’s services, infrastructure and the development of institutional performance. On the category of the media product that Petra puts out, 78 percent of responders said they were satisfied with this area and 85 percent said they were satisfied, in particular, with the “comprehensiveness of news coverage geographically in the Kingdom” item, which falls under this category. Under the same category, regarding the “quality of news (the clarity of the title, introduction, and sources)” item, as well as the “contacting and communicating with stakeholders for coordination and speed of response” item, 75 percent of service recipients said they were satisfied with each item respectively, while 70 percent of service recipients said they were satisfied with the quality of images published on Petra’s website and their relevance to the news and 65 percent of them expressed satisfaction with the “speed of publishing news” item. On the agency’s website category, 67 percent of service recipients expressed satisfaction with the website as a whole, while 65 percent said they were satisfied with the design, 72.6 percent said they were satisfied with the download feature, and 62.6 percent said they were satisfied with the TV reports (videos) and infographics published on the website. As for the “Petra’s services” category, the media training item saw a 75 percent approval rate from service recipients, while the satisfaction rate for Petra’s mobile application stood at 72.6 percent, 70 percent for press materials published through the agency’s accounts on social media platforms, 67.6 percent for SMS services and 65 percent for advertising space on the agency’s website. The satisfaction rate for the infrastructure category reached 87.6 percent, while the satisfaction rate for the development of institutional performance category reached 78.8 percent, including an item on satisfaction with the agency’s performance overall which stood at 85 percent. Petra’s annual meeting with the recipients of its media services came within the framework of its commitment to continuously reach out to its partners to enhance its vision, implement its strategic plan and keep pace with the rapid changes in media. Director General of the agency Fairouz Mubideen underscored the agency’s commitment to leveraging modern technology in its course of work and developing its digital content in line with the advanced level of the agency’s news items. Representatives of press and media institutions and Petra’s partners praised the efforts of its employees to put out an accurate and professional media content in accordance with best professional practices, in addition to the volume, diversity and comprehensiveness of Petra’s press coverage. On Petra’s English news section, service recipients noted a remarkable improvement in English news, highlighting the English News Department’s quality reports and news items. They stressed the importance of the agency’s role in following up on national, Arab and international issues, expressing their appreciation for the agency’s policy and strategy to ensure the accuracy, credibility and impartiality of the news.
