Palestine records 165 new coronavirus cases, three deaths

RAMALLAH, Palestine today recorded 165 new Covid-19 cases and three deaths, according to Health Minister Mai Al-Kaileh.

She announced that 165 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and three others died of it in the occupied territories.

Among the new 165 cases, 14 cases were recorded in the West Bank and 151 others in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Al-Kaileh identified the deaths as one death from the West Bank district of Nablus and two others from the besieged Gaza Strip.

She added that 453 Covid-19 patients recovered; 43 recovery cases in the West Bank and 410 others in the Gaza Strip.

She pointed that nine Covid-19 patients are getting treatment in intensive care units, including one who is connected to a ventilator, while 15 others are currently hospitalized across the West Bank.

Recoveries account for 97.8 percent of total cases since the pandemic outbreak in March 2020, active cases for 1.1 percent and the death toll accounts for 1.1 percent.

Regarding the Covid-19 vaccination rollout, al-Kaileh said that 445,412 people have received the vaccine so far, including 270,604 people who received the second dose of the vaccine.
