Palestine so far received two million doses of COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine it has ordered

Palestine has so far received two million doses of the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine out of a four million package it has ordered from the US-based pharmaceutical company, according to Minister of Health Mai Alkaila.

She said in a statement that two million doses of Pfizer vaccine have already been delivered to Palestine since the order was put through in May and that the rest will be gradually delivered over several months until the end of the year.

She also said that 300,000 doses were sent to the besieged Gaza Strip.

Concerning the rollout of vaccines, the Health Minister said over 1,362,184 people have received their first jab of the vaccine in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, of whom 679,821 have been fully vaccinated.
