Palestine’s wholesale price index down by half percentage point during second quarter of 2021

The overall Wholesale Price Index (WPI) in Palestine decreased in the second quarter of 2021 by 0.49% compared with the first quarter of the same year, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

WPI for local products in the second quarter decreased by 1.48% compared with the first quarter while it increased for imported products by 1.31%.

The decrease in WPI for the second quarter was due to the decrease in the activities of agriculture by 6.27%, fishing by 0.37%, and mining and quarrying by 0.13%, while the activities of manufacturing increased by 2.35%, said the PCBS.
