Palestinian Central Council: No security, peace, or stability in the region without fulfilling Palestinian people’s full rights

Members of the Palestinian Central Council in Palestine affirmed today that there can be no security, peace, or stability in the region without the Palestinian people obtaining their full rights.

During an emergency consultative session in Ramallah, the members stressed that the region cannot enjoy peace until the Palestinian people obtain their full rights to self-determination, the return of Palestinian refugees on the basis of UN Resolution No. 194 of 1948, and the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with relevant UN resolutions.

They affirmed that the city of Jerusalem, with its Christian and Islamic holy sites, is the title of the national Palestinian project which the Palestinians will defend and sacrifice for, stressing that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of the Palestinian people.

They held the Israeli occupation government fully responsible for all that is happening in Jerusalem and at al-Aqsa Mosque, including planning, directing, implementing, and protecting extremists, settlers, religious terrorist groups, and religious war advocates financing them and facilitating their desecration of holy sites in the city.
