Parliament reviews report of Education Committe

Parliament in its session held on Sunday, headed by Deputy Speaker Abdulsalam Hashul reviewed a report of the Education Committee regarding some abuses and irregularities related to the Ministries of Education, Technical Education and Vocational Training.

The report included the committee’s observations about some violations related to the Ministries of Education, Technical Education and Vocational Training as well as a number of conclusions and recommendations reached by the committee in its report.

The Parliament decided to return the report to the competent committee for further study with the concerned government side and to provide the Parliament with the results of that so that it can be discussed in a next session.

During the session, the Council reviewed the apology submitted by the Minister of Electricity and Energy for his inability to attend today’s session, and his request to postpone his attendance to another session, and the Council agreed to that.

In addition, the Parliament heard from Council member Ahmed Saif Hashed the question addressed to the Minister of Electricity and Energy over the reasons for the ministry ”why not accepting competitive commercial offers in selling electricity prices”, taking into account the exceptional circumstances that the Yemeni people are going through as a result of the repercussions of the aggression and the blockade as well as responding to inquiries related to the performance of the fund supporting the electricity of Hodeida and its adjacent areas on the coast.

Hashed called for the Minister of Electricity and Energy to come to the parliament to answer the questions and inquiries as soon as possible, in accordance with the text of the internal regulations of the Parliament.
