President Mahmoud Abbas is set to attend the commemorative festivities of the 60th anniversary of Algeria’s independence, according to Palestine’s Ambassador to Algeria, Fayez Abu Eita.

Abu Eita said that President Abbas will participate in the festivities at the invitation of his Algerian counterpart, Abdelmadjid Tebboune; which shows the depth and the extent of the historical bilateral Palestinian-Algerian relations as well as the interest of both leaderships in consolidating them.

During his visit, President Abbas is slated to discuss with his Algerian counterpart, President Tebboune, the means to reinforce bilateral relations, the latest developments regarding the annual summit of the Arab League, scheduled during November in Algeria, and the need to coordinate their positions in this regard.
