– The regional conference on preventing grave violations against children in armed conflicts kicked off virtually on Sunday, in coordination with the League of Arab States and the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict.

– The Ministry of Municipality and the General Secretariat of the GCC Council signed on Sunday an agreement for the participation of the General Secretariat in Expo 2023 Doha, in the presence of HE Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie and HE Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi.

– HE Governor of the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al-Thani met Sunday with HE Vice Chairperson of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia Dr. Nono Sampono, who is visiting the country.

– The total value of bids for treasury bills during the month of May amounted to QR 23 billion, while the value of issuances amounted to QR 9.5 billion, according to Qatar Central Bank (QCB).

– Qatar’s merchandise trade balance, which represents the difference between total exports and imports, showed a surplus of QR 22 billion in April 2023, a decrease of about QR 12.2 billion or 35.6% compared to April 2022, and increase by nearly QR 0.7 billion or 3.5% compared to March 2023.

– Qatar Airways and Google Cloud have agreed to collaborate to set out the airline’s intention to explore leveraging Google Cloud’s data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to create superior customer experiences for its passengers.

– The Civil Service and Governmental Development Bureau’s (CSGDB) Civil Service Affairs Director Saif Ali Al Kaabi affirmed that the recently launched “Ada’a” system seeks to upgrade the performance of the government sector and motivate employees to show their talents and capabilities to contribute to Qatar National Vision 2030.

– The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) organized Sunday an interactive educational program for imams and preachers of mosques on “The values of tolerance between Islamic law and international human rights law.” – The Gulf Organisation for Research and Development (GORD) hosted the 10th meeting of GSO Technical Subcommittee for Sustainable Building (TC06-SC1) a regional body chartered for developing green buildings related standards and schemes.

– Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science will organize a training workshop on preparing reports and monitoring indicators of the sustainable development goals’ fourth goal on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.

– Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) called on students who are about to take the end-of-semester exams for the second semester, which starts Sunday, to avoid the anxiety and tension that they experience during that period, highlighting the importance of being careful to follow a healthy diet to help them focus and easily retrieve information to pass the exams successfully.

– In recognition of World Hemophilia Day, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in collaboration with the Friends of Hemophilia Society recently hosted a series of awareness and education events for HMC staff, as well as for hemophilia patients and their families.

– The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) launched Sunday a regional training course on the interaction with international human rights mechanisms, in cooperation with the UN Training and Documentation Center for Southwest Asia and the Arab Region, and the GCC General Secretariat.
