The Ministry of Planning discussed with the Saudi side the mechanisms for implementing development projects.
The Ministry of Planning stated in a statement that it held a joint technical meeting with the Saudi government today to discuss the problems and obstacles related to implementing development projects, headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Technical Affairs Maher Hammad Johan, and in the presence of the Director General of the International Cooperation Department Saher Abdul Kazem, and the Director General of the Sectors Planning Department, Eng. Basem Dhari, while the Saudi Fund delegation represented the other side.
It added: “The meeting witnessed a discussion of the most prominent challenges related to implementing projects, and the necessity of forming special committees by the relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Finance, to select specific projects that are consistent with the mechanisms of the government program, in addition to the ministry’s vision for selecting them.”
The meeting discussed the mechanisms for presenting projects to the Saudi side, for the purpose of joint coordination between the two sides, and implementing them at the level of multiple sectors.
The meeting touched on the importance of holding periodic meetings by forming specific committees and involving the Saudi side in them, to proceed with implementing future projects that serve the two countries.
