The President Of The Republic Receives The Mayor Of Paris

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, met today, Wednesday, the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, and her accompanying delegation, in the presence of the French Ambassador to Iraq, Eric Chevalier.

In a presidential statement, the President affirmed, “Iraq went through complex circumstances for a long time in the past of wars and violence, as the country’s resources were harnessed to face these challenges, indicating that the situation is much better and with positive developments in consolidating security and stability and working towards providing services to citizens and rehabilitating infrastructure in all areas, such as hospitals, roads, and schools.”

The President of the Republic called on “the Mayor of Paris to visit the Iraqi Museum building, as well as the city of Mosul and other cities, to see the safe and stable conditions and the normal life of their residents.”

The President talked about the situation of the displaced and the people of Sinjar and the great suffering they face in their lives, stressing the importance of ending this file and returning the displaced citizens to their residential areas after providing them with the appropriate atmosphere.

For her part, Hidalgo affirmed, “Iraq has regained its pivotal role in the region, expressing the aspiration of France and the administration of the city of Paris to enhance cooperation and advance future plans.”
