Turkey calls on the international community to act with greater sensitivity towards the Palestinian issue

Istanbul Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay called on the international community and all those who have a clear conscience to act with greater sensitivity and take active positions towards the Palestinian cause and Al-Quds.

In a speech delivered during his participation in a dinner held on the sidelines of the “Fourth Conference of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds” in the capital, Ankara, Oktay said that the active forces should take concrete steps that contribute to ending the Israeli oppression and occupation.

He added, “Al-Quds is considered a city awaiting salvation, and that Turkey strongly defends the Palestinian cause. For the Turkish people, Al-Quds is the city of peace and brotherhood. This concept we inherited from our ancestors, and security and stability will not be established in the region without lifting the injustice of Al-Quds and Palestine in general.”

The Turkish Vice President stressed that the construction of Israeli settlements on the occupied Palestinian lands makes it more difficult to reach a permanent solution to the Palestinian issue, and that Turkey will continue to make the voice of the oppressed Palestinians heard in all international forums.

The Fourth Conference of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds began yesterday in the Turkish capital, Ankara, under the slogan “Al-Quds is our red line”, organized by the Association of Nation’s Representatives and with the support of the Turkish Parliament.
