UK anti-BDS bill has ‘chilling’ effect on Palestine activism

While much of the UK was waiting for news on the cost of living crisis in Tuesday’s Queen’s Speech, an anti-BDS bill aimed at restricting pro-Palestinian activism in the country was slipped into the address. The ambiguously stated bill would “prevent public bodies engaging in boycotts that undermine community cohesion” – effectively meaning a ban on public bodies promoting the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
