Weather: Cold low-pressure front hits Palestine dropping temperatures and bringing rain

A cold low-pressure front affects Palestine today bringing a significant drop in temperature and cold conditions with rain, thunderstorms and possibly hail in most areas, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Winds are southeasterly to westerly, moderate to active, and sea waves are medium to high.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 15°C and a low of 7°C, and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 14°C and a low of 6°C are expected. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 24°C and a low of 13°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 20°C and a low of 11°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

The country remains under the effect of the low-pressure front tomorrow, Wednesday, with another drop in the temperature becoming 5°C below the seasonal average. Rain and occasional thunderstorms are expected in most areas, which recede at night.

Moderate spring conditions return on Thursday as the temperature rises again to become around the seasonal average.

Another rise in temperature is expected on Friday to become slightly above the seasonal average, said the PMD, which warned people of floods in valleys and low areas, mainly in the eastern parts of the country, slippery roads and low horizontal visibility.
