Weather: Country remains under low-pressure cold front

Palestine remains today under the effect of the low-pressure cold front, with temperature plummeting to 5°C below the seasonal average, and with cloudy and relatively cold conditions in the daytime, particularly in the mountains, and cold conditions in the night.
Rain showers are expected across the country, to be accompanied by occasional thunderstorms, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Winds are southwesterly to westerly, moderate to active, and sea waves are medium to high.
Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 12°C and a low of 6°C, and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 11°C and a low of 5°C are expected. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 21°C and a low of 12°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 17°C and a low of 9°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
A further drop in temperature is expected on Monday to become 6°C below the seasonal average as the cold and rainy conditions continue to prevail, particularly in the mountains. Sporadic rain showers, thunderstorms, and hail are expected during the day.
A rise in temperature is expected for Tuesday, but remains 3°C below the seasonal average, with a chance of rain across the country, said the PMD, which warned people against flash floods in low areas and valleys, slippery roads and low horizontal visibility.
Temperature rises on Wednesday but slightly remains below the annual average. Partially cloudy to clear skies are expected.
