The extremely hot weather conditions with temperature 12°C above the annual average are expected to continue today, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Winds are northeasterly to easterly, moderate to active and sea waves are low.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 37°C and a low of 25°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 36°C and a low of 24°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 46°C and a low of 30°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 39°C and a low of 26°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Temperature drops slightly tomorrow, Thursday, to become 11°C above the annual average.
A further drop in temperature is expected on Friday to become 6°C above the average, and drops again on Saturday to become around the annual average with moderate conditions prevailing, said the PMD, which warned people against long exposure to sunlight during the peak hours between 11 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon and from lighting fire in areas with dry grass.
