Weather forecast: Mostly clear, very cold conditions expected

Weather today is mostly clear and unseasonably very cold, particularly in the mountains, with a slight rise of temperature, which approaches 4°C below the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Light to moderate northeasterly to easterly wind blows in daytime, while southeasterly to southwesterly wind blows in the night. Sea waves are low.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 9°C and a low of 3°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 8°C and a low of 2°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 17°C and a low of 9°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 14°C and a low of 8°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

A further slight rise of temperature is expected on Saturday, with clear to partly cloudy and unseasonably cold to very cold conditions, particularly in the mountains.

Sunday’s temperature is set to slightly drop with clear to partly cloudy and unseasonably cold conditions, particularly in the mountains. Starting from midday, wind will pick up and occasional rain showers along with thunderstorms and occasional hail are expected in the north, gradually intensifying and extending to the center.

Monday’s temperature is set to plummet to 7°C below the seasonal average, paving the way to cloudy and unseasonably very cold conditions, particularly in the mountains. Chance of sporadic rain showers along with occasional thunderstorms and hail are expected.

PMD warns people against frost formation in frost-prone areas in the early morning hours of Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
