Zaha center to partake in First Lego League

The robotics team of the Zaha Cultural Center (ZCC) is gearing up to take part in the First Lego League (FLL), an international robotics competition, which will be held from 12 to 15 May in California. ZCC executive director Rania Subaih emphasized that the team’s participation in such important international contests will inspire children to grow in their aptitude and capacity for creative thought as well as broaden their horizons. Subaih hailed the center’s efforts and role in supporting the team, indicating that it is the only Arab team participating in this global technology event. Since 2007, the center has been the first to build a free robot team to train children aged 9 to 16, and it continues to arrange robot courses to promote children’s abilities and creativity through advanced programs, she said. More than 80 teams from various nations across the world will compete in the competition named (Super Powered), which focuses on areas of engineering design, advanced programming, pioneering initiatives, scientific research, and cooperation. It is noteworthy that the team participated in the international competition last year and won the award for the best engineering design in the world.
