Occupation soldiers kill a Palestinian young man in Beita

A Palestinian young man was shot and killed today by Israeli occupation soldiers in the village of Beita, to the south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, according to medical sources.

The Ministry of Health said 28-year-old Mohammad Ali Khabisa sustained a critical gunfire injury in the head after he was shot by Israeli occupation soldiers during the weekly anti-colonization march in the village.

Khabisa was rushed to a nearby healthcare center, where he was announced dead of his critical wounds.

Over eight Palestinian protesters were also injured during the clashes with the Israeli occupation forces in the village.

Lebanese, Nigerian leaders call for a just solution of Palestinian cause

The leaders of Lebanon and Nigeria called during their speeches before the UN General Assembly’s 76th session today for a just solution of the Palestinian cause in accordance with the relevant international resolutions.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari used the occasion of his speech to address the situation in the Middle East, saying that the issue is about ‘‘the question of justice, fairness, and equity in respect of the Palestinian people.’’

“The situation in the Middle East is long-standing and gives cause for concern. Nigeria encourages Israel and Palestine to re-engage in dialogue based on relevant UN resolutions and Initiatives,” he added

‘‘The two-state solution has the support of the international community and is widely acknowledged as the path to lasting peace.’’

Meantime, Lebanese President Michel Aoun stressed the necessity of solving the Palestinian issue in accordance with the relevant international resolutions, especially those guaranteeing the right of return.

“We reject any form of resettlement for Palestinian refugees based on the necessity of solving their just cause,” said the Lebanese leader.

Aoun added that the continuous Israeli threats against Lebanon are the main concern of Lebanon, and that their latest manifestations are related to the Israeli endeavor to explore for oil and gas in the area of disputed maritime borders.
