Doha, Dr. Abdullah Al Marri, who is the director of the curricula and educational resources department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, affirmed that the crowning of student Abdullah Mohammed Abdullah Al Bari from Omar Bin Al Khattab Preparatory School for Boys with as champion of the Arab reading challenge, at the conclusion of the competition held in Dubai in the UAE represented a significant advancement in the educational system in Qatar. This success represents an extension of the series of achievements the country has attained in various fields.

Al Marri, in a statement to the Qatari News Agency , said that Al Bari deserves this win due to his diligence, determination, and perseverance for success. He consistently and rightfully secured top and advanced positions.

Meanwhile, Hassan Abdullah Al Maraghi, who is the director of Omar Bin Al Khattab Preparatory School for Boys, regarded Al Bari’s victory as a collective success and a source of pride and esteem for everyone, including the student’s family, school, teachers, and the entire educational system in Qatar.

Al Maraghi, in a similar statement to QNA, acknowledged the Arab reading challenge competition and its organizers. The Minister of Education, Yahya Badr al-Din al-Houthi, congratulated teachers on the occasion of International Teachers’ Day 2023, which falls on the fifth of October every year.

The Dhi Qar Criminal Court issued a death sentence against a convict for the murder of a university professor in the city of Nasiriyah on 17/3/2023.

The media center of the Supreme Judicial Council stated in a statement that “the convict killed a university professor in agreement with his cousin, who promised to buy him a residential apartment if he joined him in this crime, which was carried out in front of (the victim’s) house and while he was leaving for official work.”

It continued, “The court issued its ruling based on the provisions of Article 406/1/A of the Penal Code and the meaning of subscription articles 47, 48, and 49.”

The Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training and all its institutions confirmed their support for the measures that will be taken by the revolution leader , Sayyed Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, to bring about radical changes to correct the conditions of state institutions.

The Ministry confirmed in a statement, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that it stands with the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council in implementing the stages and steps of the expected radical change and correcting the reality in state institutions.

The statement reiterated the Ministry and its institutions’ emphasis on continuing to confront the aggression, pushing back injustice against the Yemeni people, and striving to achieve the goals of liberating and saving the country and for the people to obtain their right to freedom and complete independence.

The Bethlehem-based Dar Al-Kalima University, in partnership with the German Association for Adult Education, concluded yesterday the ‘Tales from Palestine’ project in Germany and Austria, where a delegation from Dar Al-Kalima University’s administration and students presented the event to hundreds of audiences in these two European countries. Vice President of Dar Al-Kalima University for Development, Rana Khoury, said, ‘Today we conclude the activities of the ‘Tales from Palestine’ festival, which was organized in several cities in Germany and Austria, with a distinguished and diverse attendance exceeding 2000 people. The importance and success of the festival lie in its ability to create new creative, participatory spaces as well as the extent of audience interaction and the groups, some of which for the first time hear about Palestine, with the various activities presented by our students and partners from various Palestinian villages, including music, photo exhibitions, fine art, handicrafts, traditional foods, and others, all of which expressed the deep-rooted, authenticity, and diversity of our Palestinian heritage and culture for the geographic areas.’ Professor Issam Awad, director of the Tales from Palestine project said: ‘At the conclusion of this great event, we thank our partners in the German Association for Adult Education in Palestine and the Federal Republic of Germany, and our partners in Vienna Acts in Austria, in addition to our eight partners in the adult education centers in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and Jerusalem, for their support. In cooperation with Qatar University and Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) held a meeting to discuss artificial intelligence (AI) and its relation to charitable and developmental work.

The meeting discussed ways to harness AI to serve the charitable work in the State of Qatar to develop this sector and achieve the desired goals, especially about methods of directing assistance to the most groups in need, predicting crises and humanitarian needs, engaging donors and volunteers, interacting with the public and beneficiaries, data analysis and strategic direction, and Improving project and resource management through AI.

The meeting discussed many items, suggestions, and initial ideas that AI can contribute to serving Qatari charitable work, most notably data analysis and strategic direction, what it can provide in helping charitable organizations in that regard, extracting patterns and trends, and the possibility of using this information to determine needs and priorities, thus improving the planning of charitable programs and projects.

Among the ideas discussed at the meeting were communicating and involving donors and volunteers, designing targeted awareness campaigns, or improving the online donation experience, in addition to improving project and resource management by analyzing data and identifying places that need more focus and support.

These ideas and proposals will require a rigorous scientific effort and the preparation of studies on transforming these ideas into applied work mechanisms and implementing them in cooperation between the concerned and competent authorities. (QNA)

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) announced the launch of a program to develop the skills of public school leaders, where the training begins on Sept. 24, 2023, and continues until Feb. 2024.

Director of the Training and Development Center at the MOEHE Iman Salman Al Mohannadi said that MOEHE, specifically the Training and Development Centre, is working to develop the skills of all members of the educational field to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Human Development Pillar.

Al Mohannadi stressed the importance of the role of school leadership in improving student learning and creating a school environment conducive to learning, adding that the idea of the program emerged to train a number of school leaders in cooperation with the Qatar Leadership Center (QLC) and Harvard University, one of the most prestigious universities in the United States of America.

She explained that the program targets Qatari principals and academic deputies of both genders in 45 primary, middle and secondary government schools. The training modules were designed and prepared at Harvard University and will be presented by a group of lecturers, including the head of the Harvard Graduate School of Studies.

She stated that the program will provide field educational experiences and 7 training modules, of which five will be offered in the State of Qatar and two in the United States of America. The trainee will receive a certificate (without a degree) from Harvard University.

In a statement to Qatar News Agency , Director of the Training and Development Center at the MOEHE Iman Salman Al Mohannadi stressed the importance of the program to develop the skills of government school leaders in the State of Qatar in cooperation with the QLC, which targets categories of Qatari government school leaders of both genders, a Principal and Deputy Academic.

She noted that the program will begin in Sept. 2023 and end in Feb. 2024, and one of its objectives is to develop the skills of school leaders and some concepts about human resource management and improve learning outcomes.

The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) organized a cybersecurity training course in collaboration with the Institute of Public Administration of the Civil Services and Government Development Bureau of Qatar in an effort to ensure digital safety awareness in an electronic workspace.

The program aims to raise awareness and train 560 Qatari employees over two years as part of the NCSA’s partnership in the Institute of Public Administration 2023 training plan, covering the training needs of 54 government agencies subject to the Civil Human Resources Law.

In this regard, National Cyber Excellence Department Director at NCSA Dalal Al Aqeedi stressed the importance of the partnership and cooperation between NCSA and the Civil Services and Government Development Bureau of Qatar, especially through its Institute of Public Administration, in enhancing the country’s employee cybersecurity competencies. She added that trainee needs were taken into account, whereby training programs were offered at various dates and times. Additionally, she said that this year two cybersecurity workshops were offered: one basic level and the other advanced, delivered virtually and in person.

Al Aqeedi pointed out that seven foundational courses were completed this year, equipping trainees with the knowledge and tools to deal with electronic threats with high efficiency, adding that another nine advanced courses were also completed.

Training tackled topics such as data security, cybersecurity risks, and cybersecurity best practices, securing state institutions and ensuring work continuity, in line with Qatar National Cyber Security Strategy.

Muhannad is in his fourth year of study at the university. He obtained a 95% average in high school and was able to enroll in the College of Engineering, to obtain in all his semesters the distinction of “Academic Excellence” and to be on the honor board and among the top students in the college. However, all of that He was unable to obtain a scholarship to continue his educational career without worry.

Muhannad is from a needy family. The father abandoned his family and there is no breadwinner for the family. He and his sister are forced to work outside of their university work to provide the basics of the house, including food and drink, in addition to the monthly house rent, which amounts to a thousand shekels. His mother suffers from high blood pressure and heart diseases, and her health condition is unstable.
