Arab League report: Globe population swells to 8 billion

The Arab League Secretariat General launched on Monday, in coordination with the UN Population Fund, “the regional report on the world population 2023,” hitting eight billion souls.

Ambassador Haifaa Abu Ghazala, the assistant secretary general for social affairs, said during the report release ceremony it includes ideas on how states can review fundamentally the methods of tackling changing demographic status.

She has affirmed that the globe population has swelled to eight billion, and issues such as spread of wars, and armed conflicts and epidemics have mushroomed worldwide too.

Abu Ghazala indicated at the need to enable individuals attain rights and shoulder the responsibilities of building a more sustainable and fair globe.

The ceremony was attended by the regional director of the UN fund, Dr. Leila Bakr, the regional director of the World Health Organization Dr. Ahmad Al-Mandhari, Arab, foreign ambassadors and representatives of UN agencies’ branches in Egypt.
