Amman: A military plane carrying the vice president and nine others disappeared on Monday, Malawi’s president’s office announced, stressing that the search is still ongoing.

According to Euronews, a statement from the office of Malawi’s President Lazarus Chakwera said that aviation authorities lost contact with the plane when it “went out of radar range,” indicating that the plane carrying Vice President Saulos Chilima left Lilongwe, but failed to make the scheduled landing at Mzuzu International Airport about 370 kilometers, to the north, about 45 minutes later.
