Jordanian King reiterates need to step up efforts towards calm and de-escalation in Palestinian Territories

Jordanian King Abdullah II reiterated the need to step up efforts towards calm and de-escalation in the Palestinian Territories, in addition to the need to stop any unilateral measures that could undermine stability and prospects of peace, according to the Jordanian Petra news agency. This came during a meeting in Amman with US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Barbara A. Leaf. The king stressed the need to work towards reaching a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution to guarantee the establishment of an independent, viable, and sovereign Palestinian state on the 4 June 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, said Petra. The meeting also covered the latest regional and international developments and efforts to reach political solutions to regional crises, added Petra.

Brazil expresses concerns over Israel’s settlement expansion in occupied West Bank

The Brazilian government expressed today its profound concern over the Israeli government’s announcement to expand settlements in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, which constitutes a violation of international law. The Brazilian Foreign Ministry said in a statement it is ‘following with consternation and concern the escalation of violence in the West Bank, which included the resumption of [Israeli] air strikes.’ The statement pointed out that one of the Palestinians wounded during the terrorist rampage by fanatic Israeli settlers into the town of Turmus Ayya is a minor, the son of a Brazilian citizen. ‘Brazil calls upon all parties involved to immediately cease hostilities,’ the statement said. ‘Brazil reiterates that the conflict’s management does not avoid frequent escalations, as witnessed this week, nor does it constitute an acceptable strategy for addressing the Israeli-Palestinian issue, for which the reestablishment of peace negotiations is urgent.’

A campaign of tweets will be launched at nine o’clock in the evening, on the social networking site “Twitter” about the Al Saud’s exploitation of the Hajj and their repulsion from the Two Holy Mosques.

The campaign sheds light on blocking crime two Holy Mosques during the time of Bani Saud, and the inability of many to reach the Sacred House, as the pilgrimage for the Saudi regime has become a tourist investment and worship is a political exploitation as a weapon against opponents, without the sanctity of God’s rituals and no respect for the feelings of Muslims, and it has become (the service of the house). Arrival of the “THORSWIND”ship to Hodeida port, carrying 704 containers

A container ship carrying 704 containers of various commercial goods arrived at the port of Hodeidah today.

The Deputy Director of the Container Terminal at the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation, Ahmed Al-Murtada, indicated that the procedures related to unloading the container ship “THORSWIND”, which docked today at the port’s berth, have been completed.

He stressed the keenness to overcome the procedures and provide facilities to receive all types of ships and not delay them in the docks of Hodeida port and work to achieve high unloading rates.

President of Anti-Corruption Authority stresses need to support efforts of Standards, Metrology and Quality Control Authority

The head of the Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption, Judge Mujahid Ahmed Abdullah, affirmed the authority’s keenness to support the efforts made by the Yemeni Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control.

This came during his meeting today with the Director General of the Yemeni Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control, Eng. Sam Ahmed Al-Bashiri, in the presence of the Vice-President of the Anti-Corruption Authority, Raydan Muhammad Al-Mutawakel.

Judge Mujahid pointed out the importance of the oversight role played by the Standards and Metrology Authority on commodities and products in order to ensure their quality and to preserve the safety and health of citizens and protect the consumer from adulterated goods that harm the national economy, and to ensure that adulterated and non-conforming goods are not allowed to reach the market.

The head of the Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption also affirmed the authority’s readiness to support the efforts of the Standards Authority and coordinate with it in accordance with the laws in force, in order to enable it to activate its oversight role.

For his part, the Director General of the Standards, Metrology and Quality Control Authority reviewed the efforts and activities implemented by the authority to ensure the quality of goods and products and food safety for the consumer.

He considered the authority the first line of defense for the consumer, pointing to the challenges that the authority faces.

Al-Bashiri provided an update on his job data after his appointment as Director General of the Yemeni Authority for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control, which was added to his fourth declaration of financial disclosure with the Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption.

Crimes of US-Saudi aggression on June 25

The US-Saudi-Emirati aggression launched dozens of air raids on the provinces on Jun. 25, killing martyrs, injuring others and causing destruction of infrastructure and citizens’ property.

On June 25, 2015, the aggression launched 20 raids on the northern and northwestern outskirts of the city of Ataq in Shabwa province, in which parts of the runways of Ataq airport are located, which led to damage to citizens’ homes and the partial destruction of a car service complex on Ataq Nissab road.

The aggression aircraft completely destroyed the doctors’ residence in Haradh General Hospital in Haradh district, Hajjah province and also launched raids on a hotel near the hospital, which led to its destruction and damage to a number of nearby citizens’ homes.

The aggression warplanes launched a raid targeting al-Shuqaira market in al-Waziyah district of Taiz province, which led to damage to public and private property, while the aggression’s mercenaries bombed the al-Qashouba area in the same district, causing destruciton in a number of eastern neighborhoods in the city of Taiz were subjected to indiscriminate shelling by mercenaries, which led to damage to many homes, facilities, and public and private property, especially in the neighborhoods of Tha’abat and Kalaba.

The aggression warplanes launched three raids on al-Saber area and the village of al-Ghail in al-Ghail district of Jawf province.

On June 25, 2017, nine citizens, including two women and four children, were killed and four others were injured in five raids by the aggression’s warplanes on the house of Mubarak Musaad al-Zaidi and the neighboring houses in the village of al-Masad in Serwah district of Marib province, and three houses were destroyed.

The aggression warplanes launched more than 16 raids on the areas of al-Makhdara, al-Dheeq, al-Najd, al-Rabeeah, Jabal Hailan, and Serwah Market in the same district, which caused damage to the homes and farms of the citizens.

A citizen was killed and another was wounded by Saudi border guard fire in Ayyash area in Munabeh district of Sa’ada province while the aggression’s artillery targeted a number of shells in al-Raqu market in Munabeh district.

The aggression warplanes launched seven raids on Kahbub area in Lahj province, 11 raids on al-Waziyah district in Taiz province, and a raid on Jabal Nuqum in the capital Sana’a. The aggression warplanes also launched four raids on the districts of Haradh and Medi in Hajjah province and two raids on the village of Qawi and Jabal al-Dud in Jizan region.

In 2018, 24 citizens, including eight from one family, most of them children and women, were killed and injured in raids launched by the aggression warplanes on a residential neighborhood in the city of Amran.

The aggression warplanes launched two raids on the General Administration of Communications and targeted the Province security administration building with four raids, and launched a raid on the ninth brigade camp in the city.

The hostile aircraft launched five raids on al-Lawiya area in al-Durayhimi district of Hodeida, and two raids on al-Mazraq area in Hajjah province.

The warplanes targeted, with four raids al-Mahathir area and three raids, al-Azqul area, in Sahar district of Sa’ada province while Saudi missile and artillery bombardments targeted citizens’ homes in separate areas of the border district of Munabeh.

On June 25, 2019, a citizen was killed in al-Jabalia area of al-Tuhaita district, Hodeida province as a result of a mortar shell fired by the mercenaries of the aggression, and they also bombed separate neighborhoods in the city of Hodeida and targeted with artillery and medium and heavy machine guns on Hodeida airport, the College of Medicine, al-Jemal Roundabout, and separate areas of Sana’a and 50 streets.

A number of citizens’ homes and property were damaged in the mercenaries’ intense shelling on separate residential neighborhoods of the July 7 area in the city of Hodeida.

The aggression warplanes launched a raid on the village of al-Farsh in Bani Marwan area of Haradh district, Hajjah province.

In 2020, five civilians were killed and about five others were injured in four raids of the aggression, targeting four cars belonging to citizens that were loaded with gasoline at Radman and Qaniyah market junctions, located between the provinces of Marib and Bayda.

The aggression warplanes launched seven raids on Fardat Nihm and al-Khaniq areas in Nihm district of Sana’a province,16 raids on the Majzar district in Marib province, and four raids on Khub Washa’af district in Jawf, as well as two raids on Haradh and Midi districts of Hajjah province.

In Hodeida province, the mercenaries targeted with 79 artillery and rocket shells, and various live bullets, many places, including the airport, and a citizen’s house was burned as a result of shelling on al-Dhabyani neighborhood and al-Khamseen Street, while a tank bombed al-Shajan village on the outskirts of the city of al-Durayhimi.

On June 25, 2021, a citizen was injured by Saudi army fire in the border district of Sheda in Sa’ada province, while the warplanes launched six raids on al-Fara area in Ketaf district, and a raid on al-Zaher district in the same province.

The aggression warplanes targeted Serwah district with six raids and launched four raids on Raghwan and Madghal districts in Marib province.

The mercenaries created combat fortifications in al-Durayhimi district of Hodeida province and bombed separate areas with 31 artillery shells and various bullets.

In 2022, the mercenaries of the aggression created combat fortifications in the vicinity of the city of Marib and fired at citizens’ homes and separate places in the provinces of Marib, Taiz, Hajjah, Sa’ada, Dhale, and the border fronts.

The mercenaries of the aggression targeted, with intense artillery shelling, al-Balq al-Sharqi and al-Rawdah in Marib province, al-Mazraq in Hajjah province, al-Madafin, al-Malahidh and Razih in Sa’ada province, Bab Ghalaq in Dhale province, Wadi Jarah and Jabal Qambura in Jizan, and Aa-Shabaka and Jabal al-Omdah in Najran.

In Hodeida province, combat fortifications were created in al-Jabalia in al-Tuhaita district and they bombed many areas with artillery and various bullets.

Aggression commits 71 violations in Hodeida in 24 hours

The aggression forces committed 71 violations of the ceasefire agreement in Hodeida province over the past 24 hours, an official at the operations room to monitor the violations said on Sunday.

The official in the operations room told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that among the aggression forces violations was four spy planes flew over Hays and Maqbana.

He indicated that the aggression forces also committed 10 violations with artillery shell, and 55 violations with various gunshots.

Qatar Youth Hostels Announces Summer Activity Plan

The Qatar Youth Hostels has announced its summer activity plan, which includes a range of entertainment, social, and sports activities, targeting age groups from 10 to 29 years.

The Qatar Youth Hostels summer activity plan, which kicks off on July 4 and continues until August, includes the main strategic goals of the Youth Affairs Department at the Ministry of Sports and Youth by providing a series of courses and lectures, including a lecture on first aid with the “knowledge” program and the camp of “aware youths … better future,” which is an internal youth camp to invest the youth power in serving the local environment. The camp discusses several topics of interest to youths, such as mental health, awareness of electronic games addiction, as well as various recreational and touristic tours.

Qatar Wins Silver and Bronze Medals in Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023

Qatar won two silver and one bronze medals in the 300-meter roller speed skating competition at the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023.

The Special Olympics saw the participation of 7,000 male and female players from 170 countries competing in 26 Olympic sports.

Mubarak Al Ahbabi won Qatar’s silver medal in roller skating, whilst Shua Al Abdullah won the bronze medal in the same competition.

On Tuesday, Hamad Al Ahbabi claimed the silver medal in the 30-meter roller skating competition, whereas Qatari athletics player Mohammed Al Mahmoud won 5th place in the 200-meter race.

Qatar participated in the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 with five male and one female athletes who competed in roller skating, athletics, and weightlifting competitions.

The Qatari team was headed by Assistant-Secretary of the Qatar Sports Federation for Special Needs Abdul Qadir Al Mutawa, in addition to coaches Ali Hudayb and Hessa Al Darwish (skating coaches), Sasia Ahmed (athletics coach) and Muhammad Al Rizqi (weightlifting coach).

Assistant-Secretary of the Qatar Sports Federation for Special Needs Abdul Qadir Al Mutawa dedicated this victory to HE the President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani for his continuous and unlimited support for sport of people with disabilities, and to the president of the Qatar Sports Federation for People with Special Needs, in addition to all those in charge of this sport in the State of Qatar.

Al Mutawa also thanked HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Federal Republic of Germany Sheikh Abdulla Bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Thani for the attention given to the Qatari delegation and his congratulations to the players for their effort and wins.

WhatsApp’s Upcoming Feature Lets Users Control Pin Messages’ Duration

WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that enables users to pin and auto-unpin messages to improve users experience.

The new pinning feature in WhatsApp allows users to highlight and prioritize specific messages for future reference. By keeping the pinned messages at the top of the conversation, important information and announcements can be easily accessed without getting lost among other messages.

The feature will offer three different pinned message duration: 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days for its users to choose from.

Additionally, you can also unpin the message before the duration expires.

The new feature aims to support users in controlling the duration of pinned messages within chats and groups. This feature is included in the latest update available through the Google Play Beta Program.

Microsoft Image Recognition Feature on Bing Chat for Limited Users

Microsoft announced a new ‘image recognition’ feature on their Artificial Intelligence (AI) bot ‘Bing Chat’, which is available to a limited number of users as it’s still preparing for launch.

Microsoft remarked that the new image recognition feature will allow users to upload an image to the AI bot and it will be able to answer questions about it, as well as scan its’ contents, and analyze it.

Head of Web Services and Advertising at Microsoft Mikhail Parakhin assured that this feature is currently only available for around 10 percent of ‘Bing Chat’ users on computers.

According to Parakhin, Microsoft is planning on expanding support for Bing Chat users on portable devices as well.

He explained that trial testing integrating Bing Chat into external browsers has been halted as the developing team found several bugs and issues, especially in Apple’s ‘Safari’ web browser, yet noting that testing will resume soon.

However, Microsoft has previously announced that Bing Chat will be available to everyone without needing a Microsoft account, as well as supporting a voice input feature with many languages, as Microsoft has been periodically adding new features to the AI bot since its launch months ago.

Katara Revives Qatari Popular Heritage by Organizing “Haya Baya” Event

The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) held “Haya Baya” event at Katara beach on Sunday within its endeavors to revive the popular heritage amid a distinguished presence of children who wore the Qatari traditional dress.

Girls chanted popular songs related to this heritage before throwing their plants into the sea, as the event is considered a popular heritage in a number of GCC states where kids converge when the month of Dhul-Hijjah approaches and every kid brings the materials they like, along with an empty can in which they plant some grains of barley, wheat or lentils and hang the can in a safe location to be exposed to the air and sun light.

The kids continue to irrigate and preserve the plant as an important part of this popular practice.
