Comprehensive cleaning campaign in Al-Mansuriya district in Hodeida

The local authority and the Cleaning and Improvement Fund in Al-Mansuriya District, Al-Hodeida province, launched a comprehensive cleaning campaign to remove waste and remove random appearances from streets and traffic lines, in preparation for the blessed Eid Al-Adha.

The Director of the Directorate, Amer Ali Amer, explained that the campaign, in which cleaning workers and teams, machinery and equipment participate, comes within the framework of keenness to maintain cleanliness and aesthetic appearance during the Eid holiday, especially with the increase in movement in the markets.

For his part, Director of the Cleaning and Improvement Fund in the district, Ammar Al-Majhasi, indicated that the campaign will continue until the end of the Eid Al-Adha holiday to prevent the accumulation of waste and enhance community awareness of the importance of preserving the environment from the accumulation of waste that causes epidemics and diseases.

Distribution Eid clothing for children stationed in Al-Sabeen district in Amanat Al-Asimah

The branch of the Yemen Thabat Development Foundation in the capital Sana’a and the Directorate of Al-Sabeen inaugurated today, the Eid clothing exhibition for the children stationed in the directorate.

During the inauguration, Hamza Abu Talib, Director of Relations at the Foundation, praised the efforts and projects of the Foundation in caring for the families and relatives of the stationed and alleviating their suffering, in appreciation of their giving.

He called on merchants and philanthropists to support and adopt such charitable projects.

The distribution was attended by the President of Al-Aqila Foundation, Abbas Banana, and the representative of the Foundation in the Al-Sabeen District, Ibrahim Obaid.

Human rights calls for trial to aggression coalition leaders ,perpetrators of torture crimes against prisoners and detainees

The Ministry of Human Rights called for the prosecution to the aggression coalition leaders and its tools, the perpetrators of torture crimes against prisoners and detainees, and to prevent their impunity.

The ministry said in a statement, in conjunction with the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, that this day, which is celebrated by the United Nations institutions, comes at a time when the US-Saudi-Emirati-British aggression coalition and their tools are still practicing the most heinous types of torture and all inhuman practices prohibited under international law against the Yemeni people, against prisoners and detainees in their prisons.

The Ministry stated that thousands of prisoners, detainees, and expatriates are still in the prisons of the aggression coalition countries and their tools in Marib, Aden, and the rest of the occupied regions, and they are subjected to the most severe types of psychological and physical torture, deprivation of the most basic human rights, prevention of access to treatment and visits, solitary confinement, and other crimes pursued by the aggression coalition.

It affirmed that what the aggression coalition and its tools are doing against prisoners is a flagrant violation of all international covenants, norms, laws and human rights.

The Ministry of Human Rights condemned the continued international and international silence regarding the disregard of the aggression leaders and their tools for all relevant laws and charters.

It called for the formation of an independent and impartial international commission of inquiry to visit these prisons and reveal the names of individuals whose involvement in the commission of egregious violations that constitute crimes against humanity and war crimes, including the crime of torture.

The ministry stressed the need for all human rights and humanitarian institutions to move to file cases in international courts against the aggression coalition, its leaders , tools involved in acts of torture, and to prevent them from impunity.. calling on the international community to take serious punitive measures against the Saudi and Emirati regimes to deter them from continuing to kill Yemeni citizens under torture.

Discussing work plan and enhancing services for Eid al-Adha in capital’s secretariat

An expanded meeting of the local authority, executive offices and directorates in Amanat Al-Asimah, chaired today,Monday, by the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Amin Jamaan, discussed the work plan and enhancing service performance during the Eid Al-Adha holiday.

The meeting, in the presence of the Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee, Hammoud Al-Naqeeb, the secretariats of the secretariat and the directors of the executive offices and directorates, discussed the tasks of the agents supervising the implementation of service work, as well as the program and mechanism for the service sector, the developmental aspect and price control, the work plans of the General Administration of Cleanliness, Regions, the Awareness Center, and the Public Works , Environmental Health Office,organizing markets and rugs, managing machinery and maintenance.

At the meeting, Jamaan stressed the importance of concerted efforts and coordination in implementing a wide cleaning campaign to remove stalls, slums, waste from markets and main streets, which is scheduled to be launched on the night of Eid al-Adha, starting at ten in the evening in all directorates.

He urged to intensify the efforts and actions required to raise the level of services provided to citizens, especially during the Eid, and to prepare parks, outlets to receive visitors and enhance community awareness of the importance of maintaining the cleanliness, safety of parks and public places.

Qatar Participates in 46th Meeting of Asian Volleyball Confederation in Indonesia

The State of Qatar participated in the 46th meeting of Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) that was held in Indonesia under the chairmanship of Rita Subowo.

President of Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) and the West Asian Volleyball Federation Ali bin Ghanem Al Kuwari represented the State of Qatar in the meeting.

In her welcoming remarks, Subowo hailed the efforts of AVC’s members and all operating committees, including national federations for the success of AVC’s programmes and championships, pointing out the outstanding role undertaken by AVC in giving impetus to the international volleyball because it constitutes a tremendous weight at the global level with the existence of 65 national federations.

The meeting approved the minute of the 46th meeting and discussed the general report of the operating committees, in addition to approving the recommendations and proposals submitted by the technical committees which included amendments on several regulations of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and drawing up members of its disciplinary committee.

President QVA and the West Asian Volleyball Federation also participated in the meeting of FIVB Executive Committee in his capacity as member of the executive office of AVC board of directors.

The meeting discussed an array of topics relevant to the game and discussed AVC’s budget, in addition to discussing the preparations made for the upcoming tournament and other topics that contribute to developing the continental volleyball.

Google Reportedly Tests Adding Playable Games to YouTube

Technology giant Google is working on a new feature for YouTube that could add interactive games to the video platform.

Called “Playables”, the feature was apparently detailed in an email Google sent to its employees asking them to test it, according to The Verge.

“Games could either be playable via the YouTube app on iOS and Android or through the browser on desktop,” The Verge reported The Wall Street Journal as saying.

The American Qualcomm and Sony have announced a new multi-year partnership that will see Snapdragon chips exclusively fitted to forthcoming Xperia smartphones. The deal is significant for Sony Xperia smartphone fans as it underscores Sony’s ongoing commitment to release new smartphones in the coming years.

Head of the mobile communications business unit at Sony Corporation Tsutomu Hamaguchi said: “Xperia 1 V, which is Sonys latest flagship smartphone powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform, has been very well received by customers.

Saudi Al Hilal Club Signs Senegal Defender Kalidou Koulibaly

Saudi Al Hilal club announced on Sunday the signing of Senegal defender Kalidou Koulibaly to join Al Hilal from Premier League side Chelsea.

The club added that Koulibaly’s contract extends for three seasons until the end of 2025-2026 season.

Koulibaly scored two goals in 32 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea after joining them from Napoli last July.

The 32-year-old is the second player moving to Al Hilal from the English Premier League after Portugal midfielder Ruben Neves signed from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Samsung Unveils SeeColors Mode to Help Color Blind Users

Samsung Electronics announced Monday it had officially introduced its new SeeColors Mode accessibility feature to help users with color blindness or color vision deficiency further enjoy the content on the company’s screens.

The South Korea-based company said the newly introduced mode provides users with nine picture presets to select from. Viewers can adjust the red, green, and blue levels to distinguish colors on the screen.

First released in 2017 as an app, SeeColors mode is now integrated into Samsung TV and monitor to be further accessible to users. A software update will be available for the already purchased 2023 models.

EU imposes ninth round of sanctions on Iran

The European Union (EU) Monday decided to impose a ninth package of sanctions on an additional seven individuals responsible for serious human rights violations in Iran.

The new listings include the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor of Isfahan province and the Deputy Judge of the Provincial Criminal Court of Isfahan province, who are responsible for the trials against protestors, said the EU Foreign Affairs Council, meeting in Luxembourg, in a statement.

Today’s sanctions also target the commander of IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) forces in Isfahan province, Governor and head of Rezvanshahr Security Council in Gilan province, and the Police Commander of Rezvanshahr in Gilan province, for the crackdown against protestors.

Further, sanctions were imposed on the Governor of the city of Amol, responsible and the commander of the Imam Hossein Guards Corps of Karaj over the detention and killing of protestors.

EU sanctions now apply to a total of 223 individuals and 37 entities in Iran. They consist of an asset freeze, a travel ban to the 27-member bloc, and a prohibition to make funds or economic resources available to those listed.

Kuwait Deputy FM receives outgoing Georgian Amb.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah received on Monday outgoing Georgian Ambassador to Kuwait Constantine Giganti on the occasion of the end of his tenure.

The meeting took place at the ministry’s headquarters, during which both sides discussed bilateral ties between the two countries and ways to enhance them.

The deputy minister praised the ambassador’s role in strengthening the Kuwait-Georgia relations and wished him luck and success in his upcoming career.

On his part, Bahrain’s King expressed his appreciation on this gesture, wishing His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad good health, and progress and prosperity for Kuwait under his wise leadership.
