An Armed Attack On One Of The HQs Of The Ruling Justice And Development Party in Adana, Southern Turkey

An armed attack targeted one of the headquarters of the ruling Justice and Development Party in the “Cukurova” region of Adana state, southern Turkey.

The deputy head of the Justice and Development Party, Erkan Candemir, said in a statement that the party’s headquarters in the state of Adana was attacked by a gunman with a firearm, which is the fourth armed attack on the headquarters of the Justice and Development Party ahead of the general presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled for the fourteenth of next month.

Surveillance cameras showed a person shooting a submachine gun at the building, before he advanced and put the weapon, an “automatic rifle” in one of the corners of the building, and fled.

Shortly after, the state of Adana announced in a statement the arrest of the perpetrator of the attack, stating that the attacker was 24 years old and fired 14 rounds from his machine gun at the front of the party’s headquarters without any casualties.
