Deputy PM discusses local authority projects in Taiz

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Finance Rashid Abu Luhum on Sunday discussed projects development priorities and the mechanism for activating community initiatives in Taiz province.

In a meeting which included acting governor of Taiz Ahmed al-Musawa, Abu Luhum reviewed the emergency interventions by the Central Emergency Development Intervention Unit at the Ministry of Finance to support the urgent needs in the fields of roads, water, agriculture and education for the disadvantaged areas in implementation of the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council during his visit to Taiz province.

He stressed the need to expedite the preparation of the matrix of community initiatives for the approved fields according to the model prepared by the Interventions Unit so as to be started immediately.

The deputy prime minister touched on the level of implementation of the local authority projects in Taiz and the development of solutions of the difficulties facing the implementation of these projects.

Abu Luhum stressed the importance of developing an executive plan for the fund’s work to enable it to perform the tasks entrusted to it to the fullest.

He reviewed with Taiz local authority the status of the executive unit in the province and its implementation mechanism for the approved projects, stressing the need for the executive unit to implement projects with its capabilities to activate the unit’s staff and to ensure the implementation of projects in accordance with the approved technical and time frames.
