EU: Shocked by Israel’s killing of another Palestinian child

The European Union (EU) said today it was shocked by Israel’s killing of Palestinian child Zaid Mohammad Ghuneim, 14, yesterday in the town of Al-Khader, south of Bethlehem.

“In the month of May 2022 alone,” said the EU in a tweet, “five Palestinian children died as a result of the continued disproportionate use of lethal force by Israeli forces, bringing the total number in 2022 to 13.”

The EU added, “So far, not a single perpetrator has been brought to justice. Full accountability is necessary.”

“Under international humanitarian law, Israel has an obligation to prevent violence against children and protect their rights.”
