Foreign Minister hopes China would push for just and lasting solution in Palestine

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Riyad Al-Maliki, expressed today his hope that the People’s Republic of China, through its permanent membership in the UN Security Council, would push for a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue in accordance with relevant UN resolutions.

During a meeting today with China’s Representative to Palestine, Ambassador Guo Wei, Al-Maliki thanked China for its support for Palestine, especially in the areas of industry and development, hoping to enhance cooperation in all levels.

Al-Maliki praised the position of the Chinese President Xi Jinping for his continuous support for the State of Palestine and for the success of the GCC-Chinese summit, held recently in Riyadh, saying the summit was important for the State of Palestine at all levels especially in the development field.

In turn, the Ambassador Guo Wei affirmed his country’s position in support of the rights of the Palestinian people and their just cause as a central issue in the Middle East region. He also expressed his country’s support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
